:《Wang Chuanfu's Patience Has Reached Limit》
BYD recently announced price cuts and promotions for over 22 of its models, with discounts reaching as high as 35%. Among them, the Seagull model is now priced as low as 55,800 RMB, setting a new record for BYD's lowest price ever for a new energy vehicle. This marks the third price reduction BYD has made in 2025.
At BYD's signal, auto stocks across the board took a hit. Chery and Geely followed suit with discounts, while some automakers refused to comply and accused the industry leader of unfair competition. However, nationwide passenger vehicle inventory reached 3.5 million units in April, an increase of 150,000 from the previous month — the highest level since December 2023.
Due to the rapid iteration of new energy vehicles (NEVs), with new products and technologies launching one after another, existing models risk becoming obsolete — essentially "scrap metal" — if they aren't quickly delivered to users. Speeding up deliveries and reducing inventory is essential for survival.
