刘定国 男 苏州人氏，自幼患病辍学，自学文学与绘画的创作。
文学作品自上世纪80年代初，相继发表于各类刊物。1988年其诗歌专题节目在全国72家城市电台播出（30分钟）。1990年应邀赴奥地利办展，次年获“艺术家”身份定居维也纳。曾受联合国机构委托创作《孕育生命......》一诗，译成多种文字。
2007年诗歌《水与生命》作为联合国教科文组织和平文化项目主题歌词，谱曲后在维也纳霍夫堡皇宫演唱。2009年作为特邀嘉宾出席联合国教科文组织的“第十届世界诗歌大会”，并用母语朗诵《永远年轻的名字一一致莫扎特》。绘画作品《吹箫仕女》被联合国机构制成明信片发行。
国内外众多媒体对其作过专题报道，绘画作品为中外政经界人士广为购藏。2007年起作品在国内参拍多次成交。
2018年5月15幅绘画作品为中国邮政等机构制作成限量版纪念邮册发行。2018年9月入选《中国影响力人物数据库》（2019年头像制作成“中国影响力人物”银质纪念币。）
2023年作品入选《国家收藏-当代书画名家名录》。
2023年、2024年连续两年作品作为CCTV央视台历重点推荐的中华艺术名家入编。2024年3月受邀担任《世界非物质文化遗产研究院副院长》职位。
Liu Dingguo, a native of Suzhou, dropped out of school due to illness at an early age and self-taught in literature and painting. Since the early 1980s, literary works have been published in various publications. In 1988, his poetry program was broadcast on 72 city radio stations (30 minutes) . In 1990 was invited to show in Austria, the following year was“Artist” status settled in Vienna. He was commissioned by a UN agency to write a poem entitled“Giving birth to life...” which has been translated into various languages. In 2007, the poem “Water and Life” was United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as the theme song of the Culture of Peace Project. It was composed and Hofburg Palace in Hofburg, Vienna. In 2009, he attended the 10th World Poetry Congress as a guest of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and recited in his native language, “Forever Young, same name, Mozart.”. The painting the Lady Blow Job was distributed on a postcard by United Nations agencies. Many media at home and abroad have made a special report on his paintings for the Chinese and foreign political and economic circles widely purchased. Since 2007, his works have been sold many times in China. On May 15,2018,15 paintings were released as a limited edition commemorative stamp album for China Post and other institutions. In September 2018, he was selected into the China influential figures database (in 2019, his portrait was made into a silver commemorative coin of “Chinese influential figures”) , and his 2023 works were selected into the national collection-a list of contemporary painters and calligraphers. For the second year in a row, works by 2023 and 2024 artists have been included in the list of Chinese artists featured in CCTV's calendar. In March, the 2024 was invited to take up a post at the Institute of World Intangible Cultural Heritage Cultural Heritage.
